SURF AND SURFBOARD RENTALS
Looking for something that will challenge you physically? We've got several great surfing spots on the island. Check with us first because the locations change with the seasons. One of Kauai Vacation Helpers' associates is a competitive surfer, gives lessons and loves to share his passion with anyone willing.
Beginner group lessons typically start with a short (20-30 minutes) land instruction to learn the basic fundamentals of surfing and ocean safety. Soft surfboards and booties are provided. Now it's into the water for the next half hour where you'll learn standing up and riding waves. Once you're up and surfing, your last hour is spent in the water with tips from your instructor on catching waves and turning the surfboard. Intermediate group lessons are also available and groups range in size from four to six people in a two hour lesson. Private, one on one, 2 hour lessons are also available for beginning to advanced surfers.
And, no matter what you level of expertise, you don't have to take your surf board on the plane! Many dive shops and surf schools offer surf board rentals. Let us know, we'll reserve one for you in advance that is close to your accommodations.
