Sea Adventures
VARIETY OF VESSELS

There are so many considerations when choosing a boat company. For example, do you want to take photos without ruining your expensive camera? If children are going with you, what are their ages and temperaments? Is anyone in your party susceptible to sea sickness? These are just some of the issues our experienced staff can help you sort out.
Here are the "rides" you have to choose from for your different Sea Adventures:
Kauai is the island furthest from any land mass in the world, in other words open ocean conditions. It is impossible to predict sea conditions before you arrive on Kauai (and often times difficult to predict once you're here). Therefore, the type of boat you choose can make a huge difference in your comfort level during the cruise.
Dual hulled catamarans have become the most widely used vessels on Kauai because of the stability they offer. They don't rock from side to side as a mono hulled vessel does. Although all catamarans are motorized, there are some that sail as well, adding the quiet and serenity of sailing to your tour.
A more leisurely and luxurious ride is provided by the larger vessels. They provide enough stability that you can walk about throughout the cruise. Another rule of thumb is that the bigger the catamaran, the more stable the ride.
A more cultural adventure is offered by the smaller boats. They also give a more adventurous ride (wet and fast) while still keeping the smoothness of a hard hulled boat. Passenger counts on these vessels range from 19 to 49, so larger groups can also be accommodated.
More Adventurous—Rubber rafts have been an option on Kauai for many years. They are a bumpy, wet, exciting ride adding lots of thrills as you navigate each wave. Those with back problems, recent surgeries or pregnancies, should not consider a rubber raft. The old rubber rafts also had rubber bottoms, however rigid hull inflatable rafts have come on the scene over the past several years and provide a much smoother ride without giving up the thrill of sitting on a pontoon close to the water as you zip along Kauai's rugged and spectacular coast. Passenger counts for the rubber rafts range from 16 to 35 passengers.
