WIND SURFING
Learning to windsurf isn't as hard as you might think. It's easy, fun and safe! You will sail in one lesson and Kauai's great instructors teach you that it's not about strength as much as it is about finesse! Kauai boasts Anini Beach which is known to have perfect windsurfing conditions. If you ever wanted to give it a try, Kauai's the place to do it!
Lessons last three hours and include all equipment. In the Beginner I program, you will learn the basics of windsurfing. One hour is spent on the simulator to give you the feel of the board and sail before going in the water. The next two hours in the water, you'll practice what you learned in the simulator and be sailing before you know it. Also in the water you'll learn the very important tasks of turning around, steering, style, and more.
The Beginner II course completes your certification. Students sail for two hours at all points of sail; then learn rigging, jibes, tacks, beach starts, safety, self rescue. You'll also be counseled for future sailing. All equipment is included.
This is fun for everyone, ages five years and up. No previous experience is necessary. You must be able to swim in order to take wind surfing lessons.
Rentals—Students must have completed the beginner certification or be able to sail upwind, demonstrate knowledge of turning and have sailed within the last year. Call us for current rental pricing.
